Chariot Red with tan leather interior and matching tan hood and tonneau cover.
Original UK right-hand drive car with buff logbook.
Total body-off, bare metal professional restoration in 1998, with a comprehensive photographic (fifty photos) and document record of every stage of the car’s resurrection.
In addition to the complete rebuild, this MGA benefits from all the right modifications that make this example a pleasure to use in modern motoring conditions. These include a five-speed gearbox (indistinguishable from original in appearance and feel but with first gear synchromesh and an overdrive gear for relaxed A-road and motorway cruising), a 1600cc unleaded engine, electronic ignition, negative earth conversion, electric Kenlowe radiator fan and an immobiliser. Other extras include a stainless steel luggage rack, a wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel, period driving/fog lamps and a fully working period valve radio.
Being an older restoration, the paint had suffered the odd chip and blemish (but no corrosion), so the car has been stripped (all panels off) and completely repainted.
It also has a set of new chrome 60-spoke wire wheels with new Toyo radial tyres.
As such, this MGA is in absolutely exceptional condition and is without doubt the best MGA we’ve driven. It’s capable of high speed motorway cruising or sitting in a traffic.
